Gravity 03:29
Maybe it's the weight of the world on my shoulders Maybe it's the crushing hand of God Maybe it's the fact that I'm getting older And every second ticks away closer to the end There's something more than gravity keeping me down Maybe it's the lies that you told me Maybe it's the way I don't forgive Maybe it's the troubled times we've had before That in my mind I always relive There's something more than gravity keeping me down Well I try to walk upright but it gets harder everyday Either me or my surroundings bring me to my knees
2.
Sirens 04:12
How long will I ignore you before it goes away How long will I ignore you before it goes away Will you darken my heart Will you darken my heart It gets easier every time I turn away To not feel like I'm wrong I'll sing along With the sirens as they lead me to destruction I know there's no life without you I know there's nowhere I can go It gets easier every time I turn away To not feel like I'm wrong I'll sing along With the sirens as they lead me to destruction And the songs we sing sound so much better to my ears than your voice I'll make a choice to ignore you while you're calling me home
3.
Everything 02:28
Here's my heart in a million pieces It's my humble offering Here's my heart in a million pieces I can't give you everything Here's my body it's a broken vessel It ain't much but it's all I got Here's my body it's a broken vessel I can't give you what I'm not I will give you everything I have but not yet I'm not done being the chief of sinners
4.
I Can Move 04:23
Only when you know there's a way out Can you dwell on things that seem so hopeless Only when you know the mystery Can you contemplate your own destruction I Can Move Only when you see your failures Can you really see the not yet Only when you throw your hands up Can you really ever do anything I Can Move I'm only happy when it's all fucked up I'm only happy when it hits the ground I'm only happy when it's complicated and wrong Only when you look outside you Can you see how you fit in Only when you quit holding on Can you ever really grasp anything

about

I wrote these songs on guitar. When I started to record the songs I felt like I was retreading old territory. It was time to shake it up! I have always enjoyed the beauty and challenge of minimalism and I wanted to explore that further.

The music and the lyrics seemed to be in contrast to each other. That seemed to be a good starting point. I stumbled across a newly freed version of Propellerhead's Rebirth RB-338. It took a while to get a grip on it but it seemed to be the ticket. The limitations were very liberating. I decided that I would use the limitation of 2 drum machines and 2 mono synths and add 2 vocals, one male and one female. Thanks to Jesse for adding some killer vocals!

I promoted this release more than any previous outing which could be the reason it seemed be the most well received. An instrumental version of "Gravity" was even licensed by Red Bull Media Group U.K.

Thanks for listening,

m

In a twisted way this is the kind of music I'd imagine the Apostle Paul would write. ~ Banophernalia

The harmonies are precise, and the lyrics are thought provoking and meaningful.
